A vintage knitting pattern for three pairs of children's gloves in 3 sizes and to make using 3 ply yarn.
The original yarn used was Sirdar Majestic Wool now discontinued, so you will need a substitute yarn, but work a tension piece first, changing the needles if needed to get the correct tension, as below.
Sizes to fit 2/4, 4/6, 6/8 years of age.
Striped Gloves are for 2/5 years: width all round hand above thumb 5" and over all length 6" with a tension of 19 sts to 2" and 13 rows to 1" over the stripe.
Cabled Gloves are for 4/6 years: width all round hand above thumb 5.5", over all length 6.75" with a tension of 9 sts and 12 rows to 1" over the main part.
Check gloves are for 6/8 years: width all round above thumb 6", overall length 7.5" with a tension of 17 sts to 2" and 11 rows to 1" over the main part.
The pattern leaflet is from circa 1940s and in good vintage condition, with a few a few bends and folds.
